Is Reflexology Covered by Insurance?

Quick answer
Many extended health benefit plans in Canada do cover reflexology, but coverage is plan-dependent. Some providers cover reflexology under paramedical/holistic services, and others reimburse it through a Health Spending Account (HSA).

How to check your coverage

The fastest way to confirm is to contact your insurance provider and ask:

  • Is reflexology covered under my plan (or through my HSA)?
  • Do you require the practitioner to have one of the following registrations:
    • Registered Canadian Reflexology Therapist – RCRT
    • Ontario College of Reflexology – OCR
    • Reflexology Registration Council of Ontario – RRCO
  • What is my annual maximum and per-visit reimbursement amount?
